Originally formed in May 2008 Hawthorn Transport Planning has been providing transport planning and civil engineering services to its clients since that time with high levels of success and numerous returning clients.
Working for both Public and private sector clients we support development proposals by preparing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements to enable both a detailed analysis of the existing situation on the highway network as well as assessing the impact of the proposed development. We achieve this by using the latest traffic modelling programmes to model the existing traffic flows through various junctions. We can then calculate the traffic likely to be generated by the proposed development and add that to the flows in the model. We then use our design and modelling skills to achieve the most efficient junction design to ensure the development can be accessed without having a significant detrimental effect on the highway network.
Our Travel Plans also influence peoples choice of mode of travel and assist in delivering a more sustainable development by putting various measures in place to encourage people visiting the development to choose a more environmentally means of travel such as walking, cycling and public transport. Our Travel Plans will also deliver BREEAM Credits and help towards an excellent rating.
We also have the capability to deliver detailed designs of roads for submission to the local highway authority for Section 38 adoption as well as detailed drainage schemes.
These skills combined enable Hawthorn to help deliver developments that work well for the end users and are financially successful for the developer.
