The submission involved modelling of two junctions as well as negotiations with the local highway authority and the Highways Agency.
Tynings Road, Bath Hawthorn Transport Planning were instructed to prepare a statement to support an appeal against a refusal of planning permission for two dwellings.

The original application was refused because the lane accessing the site was too narrow to allow two vehicles to pass and the local authority were of the view that the traffic from the eleven dwellings already using the lane plus that from the proposed dwellings would lead to highway dangers. Following the submission of our statement the appeal was allowed.
Stonehouse Youth Centre Hawthorn Transport Planning were instructed to prepare a statement to support an appeal against a refusal of planning permission for eight dwellings to replace a former youth centre.

There was considerable local objection to the scheme on highway grounds and the local authority had reflected those objections in the refusal reasons. Following an informal hearing the highway objection was overturned.

The site has an access directly onto the A40 Trunk Road and therefore the Highways Agency were the lead highway authority on the project and the impact on their signalised junction had to be assessed.
Naas Lane APC, Gloucester Hawthorn Transport Planning were instructed to advise a developer who had received an advance payments Code Notice from the local highway authority requiring a payment of £41,000 to be made to the Council prior to work starting on the site.

Following our intervention we have managed to secure an Exemption Notice for our client which has had the requirements of the Notice set aside.

Bushy Ground Hawthorn Transport Planning were instructed to negotiate with the local highway authority following the refusal of permission of a planning application for a single dwelling accessed from Bushy Ground, Minster Lovell on the grounds of restricted visibility at the road junction.

Following our involvement and the solution we proposed planning permission has now been granted for the dwelling.

The Travel Plan demonstrated how the demand for car parking spaces could be reduced to demonstrate to the local authority that the development would not result in an unacceptable increase in on street parking.
Hatton Court Hotel Hawthorn Transport Planning were instructed to prepare a Travel Plan and an assessment of the available visibility from the site access to support a planning application for the erection of a marquee for larger functions.

The local highway authority had objected to the proposal due to what they perceived as restricted visibility at the site entrance and a concern about the available car parking on site. Following our report and the likely impact of the Travel Plan consent was granted for the marquee.
